Talk continuously to children using rich, positive and encouraging language.
Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene and good manners.
Assist in maintaining spaces clean and sanitized at all times.
Communicate effectively with parents and staff.
Change diapers and assist with toilet training as needed.
Stay up to date on child development, education, multilingualism and brain research.
Language proficiency in English and Mandarin required. Spanish preferred.
Available Mondays through Friday for 4 hours a day ideally in the mornings, but the schedule can be flexible to fulfill both applicant’s and Virginia’s Daycare needs.
Minimum of 6 ECE (Early Childhood Education) units is required.
Bachelor’s Degree, two to four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects independently.
Flexibility, innovation and willingness to adapt to changes.
Extremely patient, very energetic and enthusiastic.
Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Bend, reach and lift up to or above head.
May be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
Kneel or sit on floor for up to thirty minutes at a time while working with children.
Ability to work in a moderate to loud environment.
TB test clearance.
MMR, Tdap and current influenza vaccines.
